Bad Bunny tuvo un gran regreso a los Premios Billboard de la Música Latina este jueves al triunfar como artista del año y presentar por primera vez en vivo una nueva canción.
“Desde que comencé mi carrera siempre tuve una visión, que la gente no entendía, y era que la música latina podía estar en el tope, por encima de cualquier música en el mundo entero”, dijo el astro puertorriqueño al recoger el principal premio de la noche. “Y hoy día ¿Qué tú me dices? No tan sólo yo sino todos los colegas”.
Es el cuarto año consecutivo en el que Bad Bunny triunfa en la categoría de artista del año que conquistó por primera vez en 2020.
El intérprete de Ojitos Lindos también se impuso en la categoría de canción del año, ventas por su éxito “Tití me preguntó” de su álbum ‘Un verano sin ti’”. Más adelante, Bad Bunny llegó en calcetines y ropa deportiva para recibir el premio Global 200 artista latino del año.
“Me estaba cambiando para la presentación”, explicó sobre su inusual atuendo. Preguntó en la tarima cuál era el premio que se había ganado y a pesar de las prisas, el público lo ovacionó. “Gracias, yo hago música porque los amo y porque es mi pasión, así que gracias por aceptar lo que hago”, dijo al recibir su segundo galardón de la noche.
Finalmente, era el momento para que Bad Bunny presentara un popurrí de sus éxitos incluyendo “Moscow Mule”, “Tití me preguntó”, y “Where She Goes” así como la primera presentación en vivo de “Un preview”. El público no dejó de cantar con él en su primera participación musical en los premios en cuatro años.
Entretanto, el astro mexicano Peso Pluma se impuso en la categoría de artista del año, debut.
“Muchas gracias a todos mis fans”, dijo el artista. “Muchas gracias a mi mejor amigo Jasiel Nuñez que está aquí conmigo, a todo mi equipo y a todos los que han colaborado conmigo este año, gracias por hacer esto posible, ¡arriba México!”.
Peso Pluma y Nicki Nicole interpretaron su tema “Por las noches”. El artista originario del estado de Jalisco, volvió a un segundo número musical con Yng Lvcas para interpretar su éxito “La bebé”.
Esta era una de las primeras apariciones públicas de Peso Pluma tras recibir amenazas en la ciudad de Tijuana que llevaron a la cancelación de algunas de sus presentaciones en vivo en México. A pesar de esto, se mostró animado en todo momento.
En uno de los primeros premios de la ceremonia, Peso Pluma y Eslabón Armado triunfaron en la categoría “Hot Latin Song” canción del año por “Ella baila sola”.
“¡Esto es para México!”, dijo Pedro Tovar.
Paris Hilton entregó el Premio Billboard Espíritu de la Esperanza a su amiga “La Bichota” Karol G. Se trata de un reconocimiento a su labor filantrópica a través de su fundación Con Cora que se enfoca en apoyar a mujeres en situación de vulnerabilidad.
